It is expected that by 2024 there will be a ban on the supply of PFAS-containing firefighting foam (for foam extinguishers & fire trucks as well as fillings) throughout Europe. In the coming years this will be expanded to a ban on both use and possession! By 2029 (and by 2030 at the latest), all fire extinguishers in Europe must be PFAS-free.
When used and through waste streams, some PFAS unintentionally end up in the environment, and also in our food and drinking water.
