A large international logistics service provider based in the city of Heerlen carries out complex supply chain solutions for medium-sized to large companies on a national and global scale. In Heerlen they mainly do this for one of the world's largest companies in the field of medical technology. From this distribution center, 15,000 different hospitals in Europe, among others, are supplied with medical aids, such as surgical instruments, implants and patient monitoring systems.
The complex in Heerlen comprises more than 100,000 square meters of floor space. More than 500 employees of different nationalities are present on the work floor every day. It is important that in the event of an industrial accident or incident, everyone knows what to do and where to gather. Evacuation plans play an important role in this; informing those present how they can leave the building as quickly as possible in the event of an emergency. The map also shows where the safety equipment present is located.
In the context of fire and escape safety, these evacuation plans in A3 format must be present in every type of building with an evacuation system.
